Let’s Try Some Zumba!

This semester my suitemates and I decided to try something none of us have ever tried before: Zumba.

At first, we were really scared because we didn’t know what to expect and we didn’t want to look like complete fools. As soon as the class started, we knew we’d enjoy it. I mean, who doesn’t love having fun dancing, but getting a workout at the same time?

It’s 50 minutes of non-stop, fast-paced, Spanish-influenced dancing to contemporary, pop music. Although, we didn’t master all of our dance moves in one class, it was still a lot of fun. My suitemates & I kept laughing whenever we messed up and we even ran into each other whenever we had to do a move while spinning.

At the end of the 50 minutes, the instructor talks you through a cool down which mainly consists of slower moving, stretching moves. My favorite part about joining this class is that I not only got to spend another hour with my amazing suitemates, but also I was doing something that I love to do: Dancing.

Also, the music selection was some that I listen to on a daily basis, so it was enjoyable to work out too. Do you love to dance? Do you love to work out? Do you love to dance and not know you’re working out? Then Zumba is the class for you!
